The Orono Police Reserve is an organization of volunteers
that assist licensed sworn police officers by performing community service
tasks, non-enforcement police functions, and assisting at natural disasters
and other police and fire emergencies requiring additional personnel.
People become police reserve officers for a number of reasons. Over half are pursuing a career in law enforcement and are seeking experience in the field. Others have careers in other areas and simply want to serve their community as volunteers for the Police Department.
The Orono Police Reserve unit is made up of very dedicated men and women. Each member of the reserve unit donates many hours of service each year.
