NEW 4 WAY STOP--Drive Safely and be Extremely Careful at Willow and Co Rd 6!
One of the most hazardous intersections in our area is County Road 6 and Willow Drive. The accident crash and severity rates, and crash density rates are significantly above the metro and statewide average for a Rural Two-Way Stop Intersection. About two thirds of the accidents at the intersection are right angle crashes in which vehicles on Willow Drive that are crossing the intersection are hit by high speed through traffic vehicles on County Road 6. These accidents tend to be severe with a high incidence of personal injuries and fatalities.
Effective Tuesday, September 30, a 4-way stop with overhead flashing lights will be implemented at the intersection of County Road 6 and Willow Drive.
Please be extra careful especially during
this transition time when many drivers encounter a stop sign on County Road
6
for the first
time.
