Any items found for which there is a possibility of identifying the owner must be reported to the Police Department. We will make an effort to identify and contact the owner of that property by means that are appropriate for the found item. If the owner cannot be located, the property will be placed at auction per Orono City Ordinance and Minnesota State Statute.
If you believe you have lost an item in the area, contact us. The Orono Police Department keeps track of those who have lost property, and those who call in reporting they have found property. Whenever possible, the Police Department staff is happy to try and match the "losers" with the "finders".
